LETSGROW invites academic and non-academic staff, researchers, and doctoral students to participate in the hybrid training “Unlocking AI – Introduction to Large Language Models and Personal Knowledge Assistants”, taking place on 5–6 February 2026. Learn more and register now!
This hands-on training focuses on the practical use of artificial intelligence in research, administration, and teaching, with particular attention to the capabilities and limitations of Large Language Models.
Training content
The training introduces Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), a method that allows AI systems to generate answers based on participants’ own documents, research papers, or institutional guidelines.
Participants will work with guided tools and examples to explore how AI can function as a personal knowledge assistant.
What will participants learn?
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
Understand how Large Language Models work and where they fail
Use Google Colab, a cloud-based Python environment, without installation
Run an AI application to interact with PDF documents
Apply AI tools to:
summarise research articles
search institutional regulations
prepare teaching materials
